History and Mission
Lehigh University alumni are strongly represented on Wall Street. Lehigh graduates occupy leadership positions within J.P. Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and numerous other firms within the global financial services community. The number of alumni and recent graduates working within the industry continues to grow.
In June 2002, a number of these leaders joined then-President Gregory C. Farrington in creating the Lehigh University Wall Street Council. Open to Lehigh alumni, parents and friends of the University engaged in the financial services industry, the Council was established to cultivate a Lehigh alumni community within the global financial services industry that supports the advancement of the professional and academic goals of Lehigh alumni, students and faculty, and of the University. The Council has set four goals:
* To foster the development of a Lehigh alumni network in the global financial services community.
* To enhance the opportunity for Lehigh students and alumni to enter and advance their careers in the global financial services industry.
* To create an environment for Lehigh alumni to contribute to the academic endeavors of the University.
* To strengthen the reputation and support the mission and goals of Lehigh University.

Welcome to the Lehigh Wall Street Council Web Site
The LWSC was born out of a very simple but compelling fact that has been evident to many grads for decades: The Lehigh presence in the financial services industry is incredibly strong, visible and vibrant. The idea for the Council came about through discussions between several LU alums from the industry, a few dedicated Lehigh staff members and Professor James Greenleaf. We decided that we wanted to turn this presence into a community and a network that would provide business and career opportunities to Lehigh alums “on the Street.” We also wanted to build channels that would assist Lehigh students to find career and internship opportunities in the financial world.
After several years of work and with the passion and dedicated effort of a number of key people, the LWSC has made good progress in these areas. More and more Lehigh grads in the industry are getting involved, attending our events, networking with their peers, and helping students get their start. It's been an exciting process watching this idea become a reality, and I'm confident that there will be many more positive developments in the months and years ahead.
We still have much to do to make the most of this mission. If you are a Lehigh alum who works in financial services or a related business, I encourage you to get involved. The LWSC can provide you with business contacts, enhance your career prospects, and renew and strengthen your ties to Lehigh.
